"Be Grateful"

Well, once again i have slacked off on writing a blog. One reason is because there is nothing really new to say. But I figured i would update a little with what has been going on.
Work is going great, for the time being- seeing that they laid off my mission friend that helped me get the job in the first place. So we'll see how long this good job will last! I am having many overtime opportunities which i jump on when i can to help save money for school and things to come in the future. Praxair actually offers to help pay for tuition! $2,000 per year. That will help me out tremendously as well as claiming residency to get in-state tuition.
Speaking of education... I am currently working on getting registered for next semester at SLCC! ♫Back to school! Back to school to prove that i am not a fool!♫ lol... I have been able to get my transcripts from Nevada sent up and have calculated to see what was transferable and such. I still, however, need to stop by the school to see the results. I can't really sign up for classes not knowing what has and what hasn't. Because of work i will be taking afternoon/evening classes.
Thanksgiving has come and gone! It was great! Ate some grub and reflected on what i am trully grateful for! A Heavenly Father who loves me; my Savior, Lord, and Redeemer, Jesus Christ; a big, wonderful, loving, earthly family; and great friends! All of which have greatly influenced and benefitted my life by being good examples for me! Thanks to all of you! I love you all!
This past weekend i was able to make it down to St. George for my newest nephew's baby blessing! Sway Andrew Richter! He's so cute and adorable! It was great to be part of it and to witness his loving earthly father, Mikel, bless him!
So within the past few days i was able to see all my siblings and parents! I love my family! Now i get to head back south this week, Wednesday. But this time to Vegas where i will see some of my family again as well as several great friends! I have a few days paid vacation to use before the end of the year and this is the only open spot left to use...So i am taking it! Woohoo!

Number One

Hello Everyone!

I have decided to try to give this whole blogspot thing a try! I have several family members who have established their own and it's good to know where i can go to see what they have been up to lately. I know that my layout is sort of dull and not very exciting, but i do hope to change that once I figure out how to do so!

Now, how about the scoop on myself?

I am now living in Utah up in Salt Lake City. I am currently living with my mom to help save money for school. I have transfered from the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in Las Vegas, NV up to Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). However, i am not currently studying there. Since I had insufficient funds to pay for classes, I have decided to take a semester off from school and work my tail off so that I can possibly continue my education the following semester in January 2009. I am majoring in Industrial Design- more withing the automotive design aspect of it. To a disappointment, not very many universities/colleges offer this program. Here in Utah, I have found only one university that offers the industrial design program, and that is BYU-Provo. I applied to BYU during last semester, hoping to be accepted there and supposedly start this semester. However, as you can tell, i wasn't excepted do to some complications. But i haven't given up! I will be studying at SLCC until I am able to sort out the complications to be accepted at BYU. I am hoping within a year and one-half, I will have things sorted and be accepted at BYU. If, for some reason, I am unable to pursue this career, I shall pursue the career of a stunt driver! Yes, I know that it's a funny and bizarre idea, but i am serious! It's something that i would quite enjoy! For the time being, my education is on hold.

In the mean time I am working at Praxair Health Services as a Distributor Associate- fancy for saying delivery driver. I actually just started this past week and am currently in training. Luckily, I have some really great co-workers. One of which is a mission buddy, Ryan Warner, who was also in Polochic with me! He has helped these first few days go smoothly for me! I am required to get CDL and Hazmat endorsed on my driver's license for this job. But I still have a bit of studying to do before I am ready to test. However, I need to have it done in two months from the day I started working. Failing to do so can result in me getting fired. There's no need to phret, though! I'll get-r-done! It's an excellent job! Not too much hard work if any! My job mostly entails replacing clients oxygen tanks/cylinders and/or refill their liquid oxygen containers that can weigh up to 110-150 lbs when full of liquid oxygen. I do have a dolley handy which helps tremedously in hauling those heavy containers around after filling them up. Hence why I need the CDL and HAZMAT endorsments do to the hazardous material I am handling and the weight of liquid oxygen I will hauling around in my van. We have about a 119 L container in the vans which weighs more than 2,000 lbs plus the cylinders on top of that. All and all our load can weigh up to 3,000 lbs. We drive 15 passenger like vans that don't have the seats in the back part. Only the driver and front passenger. They have provided me with nice gloves to help handle the extreme cold hosing of the liquid oxygen as well as a work cell phone, pants, shirts, steel toe shoes, and will pay for the CDL/HAZMAT testing and licensing. It's quite nice! The only downfall and what I am kind of dreading is the winter season that is just around the corner! I hope I don't freeze! ha ha ha! The area that they are going to have me deliver in once I am able to go out on my own is from 2100 south in downtown Salt Lake City up to Bountiful, east to west of the valley. Also, one day of the week I will be going out to the Tooelle area. Possibly, I may have to go up to Park City area as well every once in a while. I work monday to friday from 7am-3:30pm. Most of the time we drivers finish early and still are paid for the full day's work! Along with that we do go on call. It looks like I will be going on call on friday nights every other week and one weekend once every about 8-9 weeks unless otherwise scheduled. Any on call shifts is overtime.
